Montegrappa Brenta Fountain Pen Steel Nib
As visitors to Bassano del Grappa know, Brenta is also the name of the river that flows beneath the landmark Ponte Vecchio bridge and past Montegrappa's historic headquarters. The 174km stretch of water that connects Trento, Bassano, Padua, and Venice to the Adriatic Sea has a history intertwined with Venetian trade and aristocracy. The seductive, soft facets of the new Brenta silhouette evoke the river's elegant, gentle flow. Montegrappa pulled inspiration for the exciting new release from a rare 1930s Extra model housed in their museum. The most distinctive feature of the Montegrappa Brenta fountain pen release is the all-over wave-formation relief demonstrating the high technical sophistication of Montegrappa's pre-war factory. (The glistening briolette shaping would barely be possible today without the aid of advanced CNC machining).
The Montegrappa Brenta fountain pen is carved from resin and uses Thinline stainless steel – most visibly on its cigar-style, triple-bar cap-band. The pen features Montegrappa's classical contour clip with a ruzzolino clamp. The Brenta fountain pen uses a cartridge/converter ink feeding system and is fitted with a #6 fountain pen nib in one of three varieties (stainless steel, 14k gold filigree, or 14k gold flex filigree).
The Brenta is the first model designed under Montegrappa's Vintage Class, and the Montegrappa Brenta fountain pen features the brand's new Vintage Class paperboard packaging.
