The Marc Chagall pen, a fine writing instrument, is dedicated to one of the best known artists of the 20th century. The pen is the first one in the Pride of the Nation collection, devoted to the cultural heritage of our compatriots.

The cap features one of Chagall’s most famous paintings, Over the Town, Chagall painted himself and his wife, Bella, flying over the town of Vitebsk.

The barrel of the pen is decorated with a laser engraving of the artist’s favourite motif, a landscape of the legendary land of Chagall, his home town of Vitebsk with its houses and fences, which is a reconstructed outline of the image of Vitebsk from the lower part of Over the Town.

The quality of this huge painting has not lost its richness of colour or its details in being recently transferred to the lacquer surface of the cap.

This is thanks to the craftsmen of Fedoskino, who are renowned world-wide for their miniatures on black papier-mache.

This technique which has not changed since it was first used in Russia at the end of the 18th century requires immense skill and each piece takes months of painstaking work.

The gold-plated silver band is engraved with Marc Chagall’s representation of signature and the dates of his life.

The Gourji logo and the individual number of each pen are laser engraved on the silver trim of the cap.

The series is produced in Italy by the craftsmen of Montegrappa, one of the oldest and best-known manufacturers of fine writing instruments.
